Website launch waitlist

The promotional website offers an optional launch waitlist. When you join, we store your email address, preferred platform (Android, iOS or both), page language, signup time and a record of your consent to launch news. We use these details to maintain the list and contact you about the NihongoHub launch. A repeat signup does not create a second entry or change your original preferences.

Joining the waitlist does not create an app account, collect payment details or save lesson progress. To leave the waitlist or correct your details, email hello@nihongohub.app from the address you registered. We keep waitlist details while needed for launch communication or until you request removal. They are not published as a subscriber list.

The server also uses a temporary request counter to limit repeated signup attempts. The account, learning and payment descriptions below are broader app template text and do not describe this website's waitlist.

Website quizzes and PDF downloads

Mixed timed challenges store their settings, submitted answers and results on our server so a shared link can show a trustworthy score. Anyone with that link can view the public result. Public labels are generic or nicknames, never login email addresses. Personal bests are stored separately on your current device. Challenges do not require an email or an app account.

PDF downloads use a separate email verification flow when configured. The transactional email provider (Resend) receives your address to deliver a one-time code. We store a hash of the code, request timestamps and attempt counts for verification and abuse prevention. Codes expire after 10 minutes; old request records are removed on subsequent requests after an hour. Session tokens are stored as hashes and expire after 7 days; expired session records are removed on subsequent requests. An essential, HttpOnly browser cookie identifies the download session. Signing out invalidates that session.

Exploring maps stays public. Verifying your email for a PDF does not add you to the waitlist or marketing emails, and waitlist membership does not grant download access. Contact hello@nihongohub.app to request removal of associated records.

NihongoHub ("we," "us," or "our") operates the NihongoHub website and mobile application, a Japanese language learning platform for learners preparing for the JLPT and life in Japan.

2.1 Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, password, and profile details when you create an account.
• Learning data: lesson progress, quiz scores, JLPT level preferences, study goals, and notes you save in the app.
• Payment information: subscription plan and billing details. Payment card data is processed by third-party payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
• Communications: messages you send to our support team, feedback, and survey responses.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, features used, and session duration.
• Analytics data: aggregated usage patterns to improve our lessons, features, and performance.
• Cookies and similar technologies: on our website, we use cookies and local storage to remember preferences (such as language and theme) and to understand how visitors use the site.

2.3 Information from third parties

• App stores: if you download NihongoHub from Google Play or the Apple App Store, we may receive limited information related to your purchase or subscription status.
• Authentication providers: if you sign in using a third-party service, we may receive your name, email, and profile identifier from that provider.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the NihongoHub learning experience
• Personalize lessons, recommendations, and study reminders
• Process subscriptions and manage your account
• Send service-related notifications (e.g., account verification, subscription updates)

We do not sell your personal information.

NihongoHub is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than Bangladesh, including countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place when your data is transferred internationally.
